Good questions
Our answer is a robot you actually live with. Hermy has eyes and ears, so he is there for the things you never think to type out: the people around you, the work you keep coming back to, the routines of your week. Because he is there he gets to know you, and because he knows you he can help. Camera and audio stay on Hermy; only the text a cloud task needs is sent.
To keep the list honest. A single dollar is enough to stop bots and bulk sign-ups, so every place in the queue belongs to a real person and your number actually means something.
The camera feed and the audio never do. They are turned into text on the robot itself and then deleted. That text stays on Hermy for everything he handles alone. When you give a Campus agent a job that needs a large model, those few lines of text are sent, and nothing else.
Yes. Talking, reacting, your reminders, the light ring and the whole character run on the robot. Take the cloud away and he still turns to you when you walk in. Only work that genuinely needs a large model waits for a connection.
Then install nothing. Hermy still talks with you, plays games with your kids, wakes you gently and keeps you company straight out of the box. Agents are something you add if you ever want one, and you can remove them again.
Campus is where Hermy’s software lives. You ask once, the Desk works out who should handle it, and a specialist does the work while the Safe hands over only what that task needs. An agent is one of those specialists: it arrives with a role, a set of skills and the permissions to do the job.
Everything that runs on the robot keeps working, because it never needed the cloud to begin with. Year one includes the core cloud service and the open-source model allowance. Frontier-model usage is separate. From year two that optional part is planned at $5 a month, or you connect your own API keys instead.
Open-source models run on Hermy himself. For heavier work you can connect a supported subscription or your own API key from providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and xAI. Which brain he uses is your choice.
Exactly 2,500 First Edition Hermys are planned, numbered 0001 to 2500. Your number is your place in that first run. Referrals can move you up the waitlist before the numbers are handed out.
The plan is a Kickstarter in December 2026, with a planned launch price of $499 for one Hermy and $899 for two. Final package contents, taxes, shipping and delivery timing are confirmed on the campaign page.
